XPS cutters

To cut materials made out of Extruded Polystyrene also known as Blue Board, specialised thermal cutters are used, so called XPS cutters.
These cutters are specifically designed to cut this foam in a responsible manner to avoid dust sticking on it, or cracks occurring.

Using XPS cutters

Extruded Polystyrene (XPS or Blue Board) is an everyday material, as
follows out of its many possible uses. Despite this, cutting XPS is a
challenge for the handyman, as it tends to tear and crack easily.
Loose pieces of XPS stick to everything, making the clean up afterwards
quite a challenge. This could be done better and more efficiently!

The solution to all these problems is the thermal XPS cutter.
A thermal XPS cutter heats up the cutting edge which prevents the
material from splitting at its edges. The material thus melts instantly and is
sealed. Because no extra force is needed the material is cut tension-free.
The thermal cutter also avoids discolouring of the foam.
